What is Oh My Dog: Heroes Assemble?
Oh My Dog: Heroes Assemble is a lively, easy-to-play game where dogs dressed as superheroes are the main characters. This Idle RPG is quick and engaging, letting players breeze through over 100 levels in just a couple of hours. The game brings a variety of dogs to life with human-like skills, enabling them to battle numerous enemies.
The story centres around a human character, worn out from daily work, office humiliations, and constant headaches. A dog lover at heart, he catches the attention of a powerful being from the dog world. In a moment of frustration, he cries out for change, and in response, the famous meme dog, Cheems, appears. Cheems bestows him with superpowers and transforms nearby dogs into heroic Dog Heroes. Empowered, the main character, with his team of Dog Heroes, sets out to regain his dignity and tackle any bullies in his path.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Oh My Dog is fairly straightforward and doesn’t require much grinding. Once you finish the prologue, you start recruiting Dog Heroes as allies. This game mirrors the bond between a pet owner and their pets. Your main task is to constantly update your team as new Dog Heroes become available and to monitor when you can upgrade them.
The Dog Heroes automatically attack enemies, so you don’t have to choose their targets. As the main character, or ’employee’, your role is to protect, groom, and train these Dog Heroes. This helps them reach higher levels. As you defeat enemies, they drop gold coins and chests, which contain new characters.
The game’s user interface is unique. The combat happens on the home screen, and there are other options at the bottom. Clicking these options pauses the game. For a greater challenge, you can compete against players worldwide in the PvP mode to climb the leaderboard.
Trailer
The trailer captures the essence of an Idle RPG perfectly. It showcases the game’s easy controls and laid-back style. From the trailer, we learn that the game will feature over 100 Dog Heroes to choose from. Many of these characters, with their unique portraits, seem inspired by popular series like ‘The Godfather’, ‘One Piece’, ‘Naruto’, and others.
The preview also gives us a glimpse of the combat system. Each dog has its own unique attack animation and special skills. The trailer introduces an interesting feature where players can switch battlefields at will. This allows you to jump to different fights while pausing the ones you leave, although this won’t be available in PvP mode.
Leaks So Far
The game is a free-to-play title with microtransactions enabled. Like in any RPG, characters are divided into classes. This game has the following classes: Warrior, Tank, Assassin, Mage, Support, and Ranger. You can obtain different Dog Heroes in chests which are loots dropped upon killing an enemy. Collect Dog Heroes like Husky Lee, Iron Dog, Cowbull, The Hound, Harley Woofin, and much more to form a squad and take up enemy forces.
Level up the characters in your squad using the loot you get after defeating an enemy. Each level upgrades any one of the following stats: ATK, HP, DEF, and Speed. But when you upgrade the master or the employee Team ATK, Team HP, and Team DEF also increase. Do note that there will also be a separate section known as Gear wherein you can further upgrade the character’s armor, blade, and boots.
The game is going to have a multiplayer mode. In that way, you can compete for a place in the leaderboard by challenging different players from all over the world. In the PvE mode, you are going to have a dungeons section that is going to contain a lot of different events, mostly with some different playstyles.
Release Date, Early Access, and Requirements
The developers haven’t confirmed the release date yet, but it is expected to be released in November anytime soon. Pre-register for the game on the Play Store to win limited-time Dog heroes. Looking at their official YouTube channel on which the developers are actively uploading sneak peeks, there is no news whatsoever about the early access, and the game is too simple to collect player’s data for improvement.
The developers did not release the official system requirements of this game, but we can guess by looking at the simple and serene graphics of the game in the trailer. A low-end device will also be capable of running this game smoothly.
