What is Metria?
Metria is an exciting upcoming RPG game that invites players into a world of adventure and mystery across nine enigmatic islands. At the heart of the game is Rio, a character poised to join the prestigious Order of Astra. His life takes a dramatic turn when, tasked with protecting Princess Loara, he encounters monsters in the royal castle. This leads to a shocking discovery: the members of the Order of Astra betraying and executing the king. Following this turmoil, Rio finds himself in an unfamiliar land, haunted by these events, and determined to restore the Royal Capital to its former glory.
As players guide Rio on his quest, they’ll encounter a rich tapestry of characters – some friends, others foes. Players will recruit and upgrade these characters, enhancing their abilities to face the challenges ahead. The game promises a never-ending array of quests, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience. Main story quests drive the narrative forward, while numerous side-quests offered by NPCs across the nine islands add depth and variety to the gameplay. These quests are essential for leveling up characters and acquiring new resources.
Gameplay
Metria presents a captivating and diverse gameplay experience with its 9 different worlds, ensuring there’s always an activity to engage in. The game’s combat system draws inspiration from Genshin Impact, featuring RPG-style gameplay where players can assemble a team of characters, each boasting unique abilities.
The key to mastering combat in Metria lies in strategically switching characters at opportune moments. This tactic is crucial for conquering even the most challenging battles. Players can leverage special attacks, recharging them through standard attacks. The game’s control layout is user-friendly, with clear buttons for actions like jumping, attacking, and dodging, and movement is smoothly managed using a joystick on the left.
Beyond its combat elements, this game offers an expansive landscape for exploration. Players can traverse various worlds filled with unique resources, items, and quests. The game is rich in side quests, which add depth to the gameplay by presenting an array of challenges. These tasks range from traditional combat missions to exploring uncharted territories in search of hidden treasures.
Trailer
The trailer starts with a shout-out to the people who made the game. It shows us the game’s world, full of big rocks, grassy areas, and rivers. We see the main character, Rio, running through different places, where he meets unfriendly animals like wolves, giant mushrooms, and big bats, usually in groups. The trailer also shows Rio doing things like cutting wood, collecting meat, fighting monsters, and battling big bosses. It gives us a quick look at what the characters in the game can do.
Leaks So Far
The game is free-to-play but includes microtransactions. Its main focus is on combat, allowing players to form a team of three characters. Among these characters are Lunaria Shaurez, a skilled mage; Lucas Nizam, a young Astra knight; Rio Calquinos, an ambitious man aspiring to be an Astra knight; and a mysterious companion named Aru. Each character is unique in gameplay and possesses distinct skills.
Each character has a special skill: Lunaria wields the Flame Aura, which deals area damage to enemies and continues working even when she’s not the active character. Lucas’s skill is meditation, enabling him to deliver powerful critical strikes quickly. Rio uses the Flashing Blade ability for rapid, successive attacks without any cooldown. Aru, with the Rush Arrow skill, can quickly move toward or away from enemies, making the most of long-range combat.
The game will also feature a gacha system, introducing new characters over time. While the story is straightforward, it offers engaging combat and a chance to explore a new world crafted by the developers. The story starts in The Royal Capital of Solerian, a central hub in a world comprised of nine different countries.
