In 2025, a new game called Side Kicks! Beyond will be available for people to play on their phones, specifically for Android and iOS users in Japan. It’s a special kind of game known as a visual novel, which is like reading a book but with images, music, and choices that can change the story. This game is especially designed to appeal to women, falling into a category known as otome games.
Side Kicks! Beyond is not entirely new. It’s an updated version of a game that first came out in 2017 for the PS Vita, a portable gaming console. This game is made by two companies, Toybox Inc. and Karakuri-ism, and is being released by another company named eXtend. They promise it will be even more enjoyable this time, with a better look, more parts of the story to explore, and maybe some new characters to meet.
Story And Gameplay
The game tells the story of Inori, a young lady who can see bits of the future. This special skill gets her a role in a unique team called “Side Kicks” in a place called Sakrada City, California. This team doesn’t solve problems in ordinary ways; they use their different talents and viewpoints to fight crime. In the 2025 version, there’s even a special story that mixes characters from Side Kicks! with those from another game, Bustafellows.
What’s exciting is that the game will look better and have more to it than the original version on the PS Vita. But the people making the game haven’t shared all the details about what’s new or different just yet.

The company releasing the game, eXtend, showed a short video that gives a peek at Side Kicks! Beyond.
