Never thought I would ever get to play Warframe on my phone. I mean, seriously, one of the most intense action-packed games out there. And here we are! I was super hyped about it when it was announced to come to mobile, but I’m kinda skeptical too. I mean, how can a game this huge, with crazy fast combat and detailed world, even possibly work on a touchscreen? I had to try it on my mobile.
The game kicks off with its signature cinematic story. You play as the Tenno, warriors who wake up after centuries of sleep, only to find themselves in a world at war with different factions. The intro is just as dramatic and immersive as it’s always been, and right away, I felt that same “hooked” feeling I’ve always gotten from Warframe.
Surprisingly Good for a Phone Game
Right off the bat, I have to say, Warframe Mobile delivers. It feels incredibly close to the PC and console versions, which is wild for a game on a phone. The cross-platform save is probably the best feature — it lets you switch devices and pick up right where you left off. Sure, there are some bugs here and there, but the performance is way smoother than I expected, and the graphics? Honestly impressive.
Controls That Don’t Suck
If you’ve ever tried playing a game like this on a phone, you know how bad touchscreen controls can be. But Warframe Mobile nails it. Movement and camera controls feel intuitive, and the virtual buttons are placed just right. Everything is responsive, so fights still feel as exciting and intense as they do on a console.
One of my favorite things about Warframe has always been the parkour system—you know, running up walls, bullet-jumping across huge gaps, all that. On mobile, it still feels just as fun and fluid. They even added a dedicated parkour button that makes it super easy to pull off those cool moves. Honestly, the controls aren’t just “good for mobile” — they’re actually fun.
Looks Amazing, But It’s Not Perfect
Visually, the game is stunning. From the detailed environments to the Warframe designs and enemy models, everything looks just as polished as the console version. I was totally surprised at how good it looks on my phone. But yeah, it’s not perfect. I did hit some lag and had a few crashes, which was a pain, but didn’t totally mess up my fun.
With all these small issues, however, the heart of the game is still sound. The story missions are just as thrilling, and those cinematic scenes are still epic. Every mission has a sense of importance, and getting into the lore of the game is just as satisfying as ever.
Verdict
Warframe Mobile on iOS totally exceeded what I thought it would be. I have been playing this game for years, and I was really blown away by how they managed to fit so much of the PC and console vibe into the mobile version. It doesn’t feel like a lesser version at all — it seriously feels like the same game, just right in your hand.
Yeah, there are a couple of little performance issues, but they’re no big deal in the overall picture. I’d totally rate this a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It just shows that even huge games like Warframe can hit mobile and still keep their charm. And now that it’s coming to Android as well, even more people can enjoy this awesome game, no matter where they are.
